The Central Electricity Authority (CEA) has notified the Technical Standards for Construction of Electrical Plants and Electric Lines (Amendment) Regulations, 2026, marking a major milestone in strengthening and standardising India's renewable energy infrastructure. Effective from 1 April 2027, the regulations establish a comprehensive technical framework for the planning, construction, and operation of Solar Power Plants, Floating Solar Plants, Onshore Wind Power Plants, Offshore Wind Power Plants, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
