CEA Notifies New Cyber Cecurity Regulations to Strengthen India’s Power Sector Against Attacks

The Central Electricity Authority (CEA) has notified the Central Electricity Authority (Cyber Security in Power Sector) Regulations, 2026, aimed at strengthening cybersecurity across India’s power sector. The regulations will take effect from April 1, 2027, and cover entities operating or managing operational technology (OT) infrastructure connected to the power system, along with linked IT infrastructure.
