The Central Electricity Authority (CEA) has proposed a phased roadmap to indigenise SCADA and Energy Management Systems (EMS) for India’s power sector by 2028-29, aimed at strengthening grid management as renewable energy penetration increases. The initiative addresses the growing complexity of the electricity system and the need to periodically upgrade monitoring, control and operational technologies.
