The Petitioner, NERES XVI Power Transmission Limited (hereinafter referred to as “NERES”), has filed the present Petition for the grant of a transmission licence under Sections 14, 15, and 79(1)(e) of the Electricity Act, 2003 (hereinafter referred to as “the Act”) read with the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (Procedure, Terms, and Conditions for grant of Transmission Licence and other related matters) Regulations, 2009 (hereinafter referred to as “Transmission Licence Regulations”) for transmission of electricity under the “Transmission Scheme for North Eastern Region Expansion Scheme-XVI (NERES-XVI)” on a Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) basis (hereinafter referred to as “the Project”).
