Background
The instant Petition has been filed by Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) for the truing-up of the transmission tariff for the 2019-24 period under the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (Terms and Conditions of Tariff) Regulations, 2019 (hereinafter referred to as “the 2019 Tariff Regulations”) and for the determination of transmission tariff for the 2024-29 period under the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (Terms and Conditions of Tariff) Regulations, 2024 (hereinafter referred to as “the 2024 Tariff Regulations”) in respect of the “Combined Asset” consisting of: Asset-I Combined Elements of: (a) 30% Fixed Series Compensation (“FSC”) on 400 kV Bareilly Mandola Circuit 1 and Circuit 2 at Bareilly, (b) 45% FSC on 400 kV Double Circuit (“D/C”) Unnao-Bareilly Circuit 1 and Circuit 2 at Unnao, and (c) 30% FSC on 400 kV Gorakhpur Lucknow Circuit 1 at Lucknow and Asset-II: 30% FSC on 400 kV Gorakhpur-Lucknow Circuit 2 at Lucknow (hereinafter referred to as “the Combined Asset”) under the “System associated with Enhancement of Transmission Capacity of East-West Corridor” (hereinafter referred to as “the transmission project”) of the Northern Region”.
