On August 29 2022, commercial vehicle market key player Ashok Leyland announced plans to roll out its first electric light commercial vehicle (LCV) in the Indian market before February 2023. Ashok Leyland, a $4.5 billion company, is India's second largest manufacturer of commercial vehicles and the world's fourth largest manufacturer of buses, with operations in 50 countries and a market share of approximately 30% in India.
