Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) has issued a Request for Selection (RfS) document dated 12 August 2026 for the development of 1000 MW / 4000 MWh standalone Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects in Gujarat under a Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (Phase-X) framework. The tender aims to select Battery Energy Storage System Developers (BESSDs) for setting up large-scale storage assets under the Build-Own-Operate (BOO) model to provide energy storage capacity to GUVNL for on-demand charging and discharging requirements.
