Background:
Himachal Pradesh is blessed with hydro potential of 24,567 MW distributed over five river basins out of which 10,948 MW-has been harnessed (as on 31 October, 2021) and out of 7 remaining 13,619 MW, maximum potential will be harnessed by 2030. State is diversifying its energy portfolio by adding solar, wind, bio-mass & other non conventional energy sources.
