KERC: Proposal for determining generic tariffs for mini-hydel, bagasse-based co-generation, and biomass power plants commissioned between 01.04.2024 to 31.03.2027

The Consultation Paper discusses the Proposed Norms for Determining Generic Tariffs for Electricity Generated from Mini-hydel, Bagasse-based Co-generation, and Biomass-based Power Plants to be commissioned during the control period from 01.04.2024 to 31.03.2027. The Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC), exercising its powers under Section 62(1)(a), along with Sections 64 and 86(1)(e) of the Electricity Act, 2003, and Regulation 9 of the KERC (Power Procurement from Renewable Sources by Distribution Licensee and Renewable Energy Certificate Framework) Regulations, 2011, has been consistently setting generic tariffs for Renewable Energy (RE) based power generation plants since 2006.
