Background: The Commission notified the MERC(Approval of Capital Investment Schemes) Regulations, 2022 (hereinafter referred to as the "Capex Approval Regulations, 2022") on 12 July, 2022 after following the due regulatory process. The said Regulations came into force with effect from 12 July, 2022 and govern the approval process for Capital Expenditure of Detailed Project Report (DPR) schemes.
