Background: The present Petition is filed by Maharashtra Industrial Township Limited (MITL) under Section 86(1)(b) of the Electricity Act, 2003, read with Regulation 21 of the MERC Multi Year Tariff Regulations, 2024 and Regulation 37 of the MERC Transaction of Business and Fees and Charges Regulations, 2022, seeking approval of the Commission for execution of a Power Purchase Agreement with M/s Ideal Energy Projects Limited (IEPL) for supply of 10 MW Round-the-Clock (RTC) conventional power on medium-term basis for a period of four (4) years from 01 April 2026 to 31 March 2030, for meeting the power requirement of Shendra Industrial Area (SIA) (5 MW) and to the Bidkin Industrial Area (BIA) (5 MW).
