MERC: Petition of TPCL-D for approval for procurement of power of 200MW on long term basis from Hydro Power Stations

Background: The Tata Power Company Limited-Distribution(TPC-D) filed the instant petition on 03 December 2024 seeking, approval of the Commission for initiating a competitive bidding process for procurement of 200 MW of Hydro Power from projects commissioned after 31 March 2024, in order to meet its Hydro Purchase Obligation (HPO) under the applicable Renewable Purchase Obligation framework, meet its peak demand and for adoption of Bidding Documents (MT-SBD) for such procurement on a long-term basis.
