The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India, has approved the implementation of a pilot Contract for Difference (CfD) scheme for renewable energy, with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) designated as the nodal agency. This initiative aims to introduce a globally established market-based mechanism that ensures stable revenues for renewable energy developers while maintaining competitive electricity price discovery through power exchanges.
