MNRE Targets Higher Solar Module Efficiency Standards

MNRE’s draft proposal aims to phase out lower-efficiency solar modules from government-supported projects by tightening ALMM criteria. Between 2027 and 2028, minimum efficiency thresholds will rise across segments: crystalline silicon utility-scale modules must reach 21% in 2027 and 21.5% in 2028, while CdTe thin-film modules must hit 20% and 20.
