Background:
The Petitioner, Karur Transmission Limited, (hereinafter referred to as ‘Petitioner/KTL’), has filed the present Petition under Section 14 of the Electricity Act, 2003 (hereinafter referred to as ‘the Act’) read with the provisions of the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (Terms and Conditions for grant of Transmission Licence and other related matters) Regulations, 2009 (hereinafter referred to as ‘the Transmission Licence Regulations’) for the grant of a separate transmission licence for Augmentation of “2x500 MVA, 400/230kV transformation capacity (3rd & 4th ICTs) at Karur PS on RTM route” (hereinafter referred to as the ‘transmission scheme/project’).
