On June 30, 2025, the Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) issued a Notice Inviting Tender (NIT) for developing a 600 MW/1200 MWh standalone Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) under Tranche-2 of the Viability Gap Funding (VGF) scheme. This project supports India’s initiative to integrate large-scale energy storage solutions into the grid, enhancing renewable energy stability and grid reliability.
