The Government of Tamil Nadu (GoTN) had issued policy directions under sub-section (1) of section 108 of the Electricity Act, 2003, for extension of free supply / concessional tariff to different categories of consumers like Domestic consumers, Common Supply, Hut consumers, Agricultural consumers, Actual Places of Public Worship, Powerloom Consumers, Handloom Consumers and HT Lift Irrigation for Co-operative Societies under Agriculture category from 2004 onwards, LT III B Industries (ToD Charges) and LT III B Network Charges.
