Tamil Nadu Green Energy Corporation Limited (TNGECL) has issued a tender to develop seven standalone Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects, totaling 1,500 MWh (375 MW × 4 hours). The initiative aims to enable 1.5-cycle daily charging and discharging, providing “on-demand” energy to Tamil Nadu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (TNPDCL) during peak and off-peak hours.
