1. The West Bengal Electricity Regulatory Commission, a statutory body constituted under the first proviso to Section 82(1) of the Electricity Act, 2003 (hereinafter referred to as "the Act"). Pursuant to Sections 86 and 62(1) of the Act, it is empowered to determine tariffs for (a) the supply of electricity by a generating company to a distribution licensee, (b) the transmission of electricity, (c) the wheeling of electricity, and (d) the retail sale of electricity, within the State of West Bengal.
