AERC: Petition of APDCL for approval for procurement of 500 MW of power from coal-based generators in a staggered manner

Petitioner: Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL)

Background:  APDCL submitted a petition to approve procurement of 500 MW of power on a long-term basis from coal-based generators, in a staggered manner-200 MW from FY 2025-26 and an additional 300 MW form FY 2028-29 each for 25 years at price discovered through competitive bidding in DEEP (Discovery of Efficient Electricity Price) Portal of Ministry of Power and adoption of tariff under Section 63 of Electricity Act 2003.
