The Central Electricity Authority (CEA), under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, has issued a draft Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for Independent Third-Party Fire Safety Audits of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), inviting public comments until January 11, 2026. This draft has been released in accordance with Regulation 122 (L)(1) of the proposed CEA (Measures relating to Safety and Electric Supply) (First Amendment) Regulations, 2025.
