Background:
The Petitioner, POWERGRID Chitradurga Bellary Transmission Limited (erstwhile Chitradurga Bellary REZ Transmission Limited), has filed the present Petition under Section 63 of the Electricity Act, 2003, read with Section 79(1)(c) & (d) of the Electricity Act, 2003, in short “the Act”) seeking the adoption of transmission tariff discovered through the tariff based competitive bidding process for the purpose of selection of Bidder as the Transmission Service Provider (TSP) to establish the Inter-State Transmission System for “Transmission Scheme for integration of Davanagere/ Chitradurga REZ and Bellary REZ in Karnataka” on a Build, Own, Operate and Transfer Basis (hereinafter referred to as “BOOT Basis”).
