CERC: Suo-Motu on Rate of Congestion Charge in Real-Time Operation in Inter-State Transmission of Electricity

Backgroun:

The Commission has notified the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (Measures to relieve congestion in real time operation) Regulations, 2009 (hereinafter “Congestion Charge Regulations”) on 22.12.2009, which came into effect from 24.12.2009. The rationale behind applying a congestion charge is to ensure stability and security of the transmission system and the overall Grid.
