NLC India Limited (NLCIL), a Navratna public sector enterprise under the Government of India, has issued a global tender for developing a 250 MW/500 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Tamil Nadu. Announced on January 5, 2026, the project will be implemented on behalf of NLC India Renewables Limited (NIRL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NLCIL, and reflects the company’s strategic push to strengthen India’s renewable energy and energy storage infrastructure.
