Power Grid Corporation of India (POWERGRID) has issued a tender to select a consortium partner for establishing 1,000 MW/2,000 MWh of standalone battery energy storage systems (BESS) across seven substations in Andhra Pradesh. Bids are due by November 27, 2025, with openings the same day. The award is contingent upon POWERGRID securing the upstream BESS tender from Andhra Pradesh Power Transmission Corporation (APTRANSCO).
