Background: Petition under Section 86 read with Sections 62 and 181 of the Electricity Act, 2003 and Regulations 4,5,8 and 12 of GERC (Procurement of Renewable Energy from Renewable Energy Sources) Regulations 2010 and its subsequent amendments thereto, for issuing necessary directives to the Respondent Gujarat Energy Development Agency (GEDA) to consider power generated from Co-fired Biomass towards compliance of Non-Solar Renewable Purchase Obligation.
