SJVN has issued a tender to develop 250 MW/500 MWh standalone battery energy storage systems (BESS) at the 1,360 MW Panipat thermal power station in Haryana, with bids due by January 6, 2026. The project scope includes setting up BESS, charging and discharging on demand, constructing the transmission network, land allocation, and operation and maintenance for 12 years.
