India’s power sector is set for a significant transformation by 2035–36, as highlighted in the Central Electricity Authority’s National Generation Adequacy Plan (2026–27 to 2035–36). The country is projected to reach a total installed capacity of around 1121 GW, with nearly 70% coming from non-fossil fuel sources.
